ifunk.net -> quality, not quantity...

It's been a while since I updated this site. Wow. It's been ages. I'm sure no one checks this site anymore, but for those that do I applaud you. And pity you.

Some big news lately... My wife gave birth to our second child, Zahli Ava Tongia-Royle on the 11th May. After 9 months of anticipation we finally got to meet our little "crazy fish", and what a great feeling that was.

Zahli is such an adorable little baby, she sleeps so much. She is very different to how Ellianah was as a baby. Although Ellianah would sleep a lot (like most babies) she would cry non-stop if she woke up hungry and would keep going until she got that bottle in her mouth. If you left it more than a few minutes, she would almost turn purple from her cries!

Zahli is such a contrast to Ellianah, as she will often sleep past her feeding times. Even when she wakes up after a long sleep for a feed she will still remain fairly silent and calm for another 5 minutes if you hold her and talk to her. Occasionally she falls back to sleep and you have to wake her up again just to get some milk into her and make sure she is eating enough.

So how has life been with two small children? Mostly good, but I'm not entirely satisifed right now. I don't feel I have enough quality time with Zahli at this young age. By the time I stop working, come home, entertain Ellianah until she goes to bed, do some housework, I'm so tired that I can't appreciate Zahli as much as I would like to.

I can't quite remember what it was like with Ellianah, although I was wasn't working full time, I had a busy freelance project underway around that time. Even so, I was definitely sleeping more back then :)

The other great news is that my wife and I have been together for 10 years next week. So far I've been with Née for roughly 37% of my life. How insane is that? And I still love her, and even though I get on her nerves daily I'm fairly certain she loves me too.

And that's it for now. 10 points goes to the first person to comment!
