I love you Adam!
I just wanted to let you all know how wonderful Adam is and to let him know that I love him lots and lots!
This week as been hectic, tiring, very busy and just plain nasty! I worked everyday this week which is something I have not done in an entire year! It was about this time last year when I finished up at school in preparation for my beautiful daughter to arrive.
Throughout all my struggles and trials, Adam has not complained at all! He has been there for me to pick me up off the floor. He's done the dishes, kept Ellianah happy and healthy, as well as himself, he let me go to dinner with the girls and leave Elli at home when it was my turn to take her, he's not complained about anything and on top of all that he has been working too.
Thank you Addy - You are my knight in shining coconut armour!
The rest of the story goes like this...
I have been working with a 4/5 composite and it's been really tough. For all those teachers out there, if you have ever done relief, you'll know what I mean when I say POOR BEHAVIOUR! Differnt teachers have different teaching styles and that includes their stance on behaviour management. Some teachers don't mind working in particular ways and environments but when you are spending so much time working with one class, you need to feel comfortable.
So anyway, to cut a long story short, I have totally turned this class on it's ass. They are starting to get the picture about what good behaviour is. I feel totally pooped but it just had to be done.
They reduced me to tears on Tuesday afternoon by trashing the room. I am a strong teacher and it takes a lot to get me down, so that should give you an idea of just how rotten they were - to make me cry. However, I got my own back by canceling all fun activities and making them work on a REALLY hard work sheet for the entire day. Then they were made to clean the classroom and write letters home to their parents to explain why they got into so much trouble. I have signed a million detention slips but I am just soooo determined to get on top of them. Next time I have them, I hope they will retain their "respect" (or what little they have). I just hope their teacher keeps it going other wise all my hard work will have been for nothing.
I also had a few of them in tears today... So I guess i got my own back there too.
I am looking forward to having my own class and getting reports from relief teachers that my kids were a dream to teach...
And though Elli is only 9 and bit months old, she has already been warned that if she is rude, disrecpectful or cheeky to her teacher, she will be punished at home.
Bye for now!
Love Née xxx
PS - Maynard is DEAD! That's my car for those of you who don't recognise the name. His starter motor has carked it! (Just a little extra to top off the crazy week I've had!)
Nee, I know you've put in a mammoth effort this week, but I think you passed the test life threw at you.
Good things will prevail... such as going to Tonga!!! WOOP!!!
GO NEE!!!!
You are an awesome person who I am sure is a better teacher than some of the ones that we had ;)
I hope this week has made you happy with your decision to not go back to work full time. Enjoy life while you can.
Keep up the good work.
