too funny
Ellianah has developed so much in the last two weeks. It's amazing being able to notice the small things change each day - something that I would surely miss if I was working fulltime.
She has learnt how to clap her hands. Most of the time all I have to do is starting clapping and say "Yaaay!!" and she imitates me. When I am on the computer and she wants my attention, she starts clapping as well. Another technique she uses to get my attention is to crawl over to the power plug that powers all of our computers, or to the power button on my computer. I'm not sure she realises what they do yet - but she knows she'll always be picked up before she gets there. She has only succeeded in switching my computer off once so far :)
Ellianah has started to interact with her surroundings intentionally lately, and knows when she is in trouble and doing the wrong thing. She will start crawling into the kitchen (where she is forbidden due to her magnetic attraction to the bins), and I will come after her and say "Come back!", or "Oy! Where do you think you're going??!??". When she hears me coming after her she'll pick up the pace and start laughing while trying to escape. She's so cute!
It won't be long before she is walking. Every day she is more stable on her feet. Ellianah is able to hold onto the couch and walk the length of it, and although she can support herself on her tiny little legs, she hasn't yet grasped the ability to balance properly.
In 3 days she'll turn 10 months old! It's incredible how fast she is growing. I don't want her to grow up, however I am really looking forward to all there is to come!
Thank you to Née and Ellianah for giving me the opportunity to experience all of this!
Note to Rob: Not long now buddy - best of luck to you! Being a father is awesome, and I'm living proof that you can be a "gaga daddy" while still maintain a "cool, bad boy" attitude. :) Or maybe not...
