December 28
second night
Our second day in Auckland was mostly relaxing. We left home around 10am to meet my cousin in the airport, but plans went astray as traffic held us up halfway there. When we arrived we were about 30mins late and ended up searching the entire airport a few times to track her down. Unfortunately she wasn't carrying a mobile phone and my mobile phone wasn't set to roaming (aagghh). We left after searching for about an hour.

One of the things that is hard to get used to is the sunset. It's beautiful and all, but the sun sets so damn late. It's 9pm and it's still light outside! Crazy, crazy stuff. I'm not sure how I would handle it if Brisbane was like this. Please give me back my nights :)

Ellianah was a bit of a handful tonight. She's been really rocked around the last few days with broken sleep and a hectic timetable. Combined with the unusual feeding times and the jet lag (??) she is easily frustrated when we aren't giving her our full attention. Last night she wouldn't go to sleep, so I took her for a short drive and it was the BOMB! Fast asleep in 2 minutes. Same thing is happening at the moment, however it's Nee's turn and she's been gone for ages (must be lost).

Today we bought a Vodafone pre-paid SIM card, and everything is setup. Email me or leave a message here if you want my number - it's probably not a great idea to post it on the internet. :)

Tomorrow we leave for Gisborne and have almost an entire day consumed with driving. I'm really excited about seeing my bike, so the sooner I get to bed, the better :) Nee and I have been really good together, not getting at each other's throats. Nee still has a bit of trouble reading a map, but I'm fairly tolerant of her at the moment. Let's see how tomorrow pans out!

Adam, it's not Nee's fault that maps were designed by men! And I bet if she were reading it to me I'd understand what she meant!! Just remember men are from Mars and thank god women don't have a penis!!!
