back home
After about 6 hours inside a plane, we are finally back in the comfort of our own home. It's so good to be back. Fast internet, running hot water, drinking water from the tap, the list goes on. I'm still getting used to the jetlag - this morning I was up at 5:30am. Even though I was still tired, I couldn't sleep. Neither could Ellianah. Here I am typing this at 7am, waiting for the shops to open so I can buy some milk. I haven't had milk in ages and am keen to have some Weet-Bix.

Ricky dropped around after work last night with a 6-pack of cider, which was nothing short of fantastic. I haven't tasted good cider since we left about a month ago. My mum prepared some chicken wings and salad for us to eat. This was great, cause our fridge is bare (obviously).

Ed arrives home today. I can't wait to see him because my bike is in many pieces, and he knows how to put it back together.

The mozzie bites have been crazy back in Brisbane. I don't think I got any while we were in NZ and Tonga (though Nee and Elli were mauled by them), but this morning I have had at least 5 bites on my arms and legs. Crazy!!

I will miss Tonga, but we will return some day! (And I will eat some dog)

COOK: Dog, a popular dish in China, is very versatile. To stir-fry dog, heat a small amount of oil in a wok. Cut dog into small cubes, then place in wok and brown evenly. When dog is brown, add chopped broccoli, snap peas, carrots, and soy sauce. Cover and let steam.

Oy! Mum.... Don't egg him on! If he ever gets to eat dog, it will only be in Tonga.... Hopefully by then someone clever in Tonga will have kulled the strays and the owners will be forced to take care of the ones that they actually want... It's sad really...
