ants in a microwave
I've got a bit of a dilemma that I've been battling in my head for a few days. Recently we've had a bit of a problem with ants in our kitchen. If we leave out some food sitting on the bench for three days, sure enough, we've got ants all over the place. They also love my honey bottle so much, I have been forced to build a moat around its base.
Ants have also been camping out in our microwave. I don't really mind them staying in the microwave, though, as they don't leave any mess behind (and more often than not, they're cleaning up my mess!). However, I am faced with a dilemma when I wish to heat up some food in their new home. Since I was a young lad I've been very aware that ants are just like any other animal, they have families and babies, etc. I get very guilty whenever I kill an ant, whether it's by accident or on purpose. This guilt diminishes pretty quickly though, and it's usually not long before my next homocide. I have to ask the readers of ifunk.net, in a situation that I face almost everyday, what would you choose to do when you have ants in the microwave? Do you: a) Wait for the ants to leave on their own time before cooking your food b) Squish the ants with your finger (and remove the carcass) before cooking your food c) Just cook your food while they're still in there After a bit of research (I asked Dave - from the coca-cola caper (also an ant story)) and a brief look on google, I discovered that a small number of ants in a microwave will avoid the microwaves emitted, therefore mainting their state of life. What is your method, a, b or c? comments post a comment

I don't have the guilt with ants, they are too annoying.
